The District Court of Ilam has ordered to sentence 22-year-old Surendra Rai of Sulubung VDC-2 for 16 years on August 29 on the charge of raping a 12-year-old girl. He was in custody after the incident. A single bench of district court judge Nawa Raj Dahal has given a verdict regarding the case. The court has also ordered to compensate the victim with Rs 75,000 from an accused. The victim was raped on many occasions by an accused. A complaint against the accused was lodged at District Police Office on March 1, 2016. He was arrested by the police and was remanded in custody.
