Transport closure affects passengers in Bardiya

2016-09-19

Lumbini, Bardiya, Gulariya

Krishnasar Transport Entrepreneur Committee (KTEC) in Bardiya has halted the plying of its vehicles for the past three days, affecting passengers. The committee said it resorted to the move to protest the 'illegal' move of the Bheri Transport Private Limited (BTPL) to operate vehicles registered in the name of individuals. The BTPL's move aims at jeopardizing the business of other transport entrepreneurs, said KTEC's Chairman Shambhu Rijal. BTPL's Chairman Rajendra Giri however is not ready to accept the accusation. "We have operated vehicles registered in the name of persons after going through due procedures," he said. The KTEC operates more than 90 public vehicles on long and short routes. RSS
