‘Solidarity for Dr Govinda KC Alliance’ organized a sit-in protest in front of House Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar’s residence at Baluwatar, Kathmandu on Thursday. Activist Shasi Bikram Karki informed that the protest was organized against the hold off regarding the impeachment motion against Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Chief Lokman Singh Karki that has been tabled at the parliament. The sit-in protest that commenced from 9 am today ended an hour later. Senior Orthopedic surgeon at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital Prof Dr Govinda KC has begun his ninth hunger strike from Monday. He has already staged eight hunger strikes in the past demanding reforms in medical education sector. Dr KC has placed four-point demand this time including three of his demands from the past. His demands include endorsement of medical education bill from the ongoing session of parliament, impeachment of CIAA chief Lokman Singh Karki and member Raj Narayan Pathak, implement medical education fee as suggested by Mathema Commission and scrap a committee comprising representatives of private medical college. ‘सोलिडारिटी फर डा. गोविन्द केसी अलायन्स’ले बालुवाटारस्थित सभामुख ओनसरी घर्तीको सरकारी निवास अगाडि बिहीबार बिहान धर्ना दिएको छ । संसदमा दर्ता भएको अख्तियार प्रमुख लोकमानसिंह कार्कीमाथि महाअभियोग लगाउने प्रस्ताव रोकेको भन्दै अलायन्सले प्रदर्शन गरेको अभियन्ता शशिविक्रम कार्कीले जानकारी दिए । बिहान ९ बजेदेखि सुरु भएको धर्ना एक घण्टा चलेको थियो ।
