Police arrested 34-year-old Man Bahadur Buda Magar of Sorhawa VDC-2 on October 14 on the charges of rape. The accused absconded after the incident. The Area Police Office of Maina Pokhari arrested the accused from his house according to DSP Netramani Giri of DPO Bardiya. The police had registered the case seven years ago on the charges of raping a woman. Since then the accused was on the run. The District Court of Bardiya had already given its verdict in 2009 June 6 to sentence him for Four years eight months and fourteen days after finding him guilty.
