Police have arrested 49 years old Pancha Dev Mandal of Itahari Municipality-4 on October 26 on charge of marital rape. He was accused of fraudulently marrying a 19 years old girl and committing a marital rape since two years. The accused was arrested by the police after the victim lodged a complaint at Area Police Office of Itahari on October 25 accusing him of fraudulently marrying her despite of having wife and children and also physically and mentally torturing her since two years according to DSP Naresh Raj Subedi of Area Police Office, Itahari. The victim underwent a health checkup at BP Koirala Health Institute on October 26 according to the police. १९ वर्षीया महिलालाई झुक्याएर विवाह गरी दुई वर्षदेखि बलात्कार गरेको आरोपमा प्रहरीले सप्तरी महादेवा गाविस–४ घर भई इटहरी उमनपा–१ मा बस्ने ४९ वर्षीय पञ्चदेव (खंग) मण्डललाई कात्तिक १० गते गिरफ्तार गरेको छ । पत्नी र दुई जना सन्तान हुँदाहुँदै आफूलाई झुक्याएर विवाह गरी २ वर्षदेखि शारीरिक तथा मानसिक यातना दिई शोषण गरेको आरोपमा पीडित महिलाले प्रहरीमा कात्तिक ९ गते उजुरी दिएपछि आरोपितलाई अनुसन्धानका लागि गिरफ्तार गरिएको इलाका प्रहरी कार्यालय इटहरीका डिएसपी नरेशराज सुवेदीले जानकारी दिए । पहिलो पत्नीबाट दुई जना सन्तान भएपछि परिवार नियोजनसमेत गरिसकेका आरोपितले झुक्याएर विवाह गरी कान्छी पत्नी भनेर समाजमा देखाएपनि कामदारका रूपमा राखेर बलात्कारका साथै शारिरीक तथा मानसिक यातना दिने गरेको पीडितले आरोप लगाएकी छन् । पीडित महिलाको स्वास्थ्य परीक्षण कात्तिक १० गते विपी कोइराला स्वास्थ्य विज्ञान प्रतिष्ठानमा गरिएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ ।
