Locals of Chitwan and Narayani Municipality have picketed the Chitwan DDC Office on Monday demanding amendments to be made on the decision of multi-party committee regarding the local level restructuring. Locals of the two municipalities staged demonstration for an hour protesting against the proposal to merge the two municipalities into Bharatpur. The protest took place 3 days after the memorandum was submitted. Local Development Officer Shrawan Kumar Pokharel has already departed for Kathmandu alongside the reconstruction draft. Congress Leader Bishnu Dhakal says that the protest will continue unless proper draft is made. The meeting that took place D.D.C proposed to retain one metropolitan and 6 municipalities. यहाँका चित्रवन र नारायणी नगरपालिकाका स्थानीयले सर्वदलीय समितिको निर्णय संशोधन माग गर्दै सोमबार जिविस घेराउ गरेका छन् । प्रस्ताव तयार गर्ने क्रममा दलले यी दुई नगरपालिकालाई भरतपुरमा गाभ्ने सहमति जनाएपछि सरोकारवाला विरोधमा उत्रिएका हुन् । चित्रवन–नारायणी नगर संघर्ष समितिको अगुवाइमा नाराबाजीसहित जिविस पुगेका स्थानीयलाई गेटमा तैनाथ सुरक्षाकर्मीले रोकेका थिए । उनीहरूले एक घण्टा नाराबाजी गरे । फरक मतसहितको ज्ञापनपत्र बुझाएको तीन दिनपछि स्थानीयले जिविस घेराउ गरेका हुन् । स्थानीय विकास अधिकारी श्रवणकुमार पोख्रेल पुन:संरचनाको खाका बोकेर राजधानी गएका छन् । महानगर ,नगर र गाउँपालिकाको खाका तयार पार्दा स्थानीय स्तरमा व्यापक छलफल जरुरी रहेको कांग्रेसका स्थानीय नेता विष्णु ढकालले बताए । ‘पुन:संरचनाका नाममा दलले सरोकारवालाको भावनाविपरीत सहमति गरेका छन्,’ ढकालले भने, ‘सहमति संशोधन नभएसम्म विरोध जारी रहन्छ ।’ जिविसमा बसेको सर्वदलीय बैठकले जिल्लामा एक महानगरपालिका र ६ नगरपालिका कायम गर्ने सहमतिसहितको खाका प्राविधिक सहयोग समितिलाई बुझाएको थियो ।
