The District Court of Dang Deukhuri has ordered to sentence 31-year-old Hari Chaudhary of Dhanauri-1 Chilhariya to six months in jail on the charges of beating 65-year-old Dibya Chaudhary of the same place alleging her of being a witch. A single bench of District Court judge Balabhadra Bastola on November 17 has given the verdict regarding the case. The victim lodged a complaint at the Area Police Office of Tulsipur on April 25 against the accused of assaulting her on April 20. The victim sustained a fractured jaw in the incident. She underwent medical treatment at Rapti zonal hospital and was referred to Kathmandu. The perpetrator was sentenced for six months in prison however he absconded after the incident according to DSP Prakash Raj Sharma of DPO Dang.
