The residents of Gauri, Malika, Kalbhairab and Gamaudi VDCs in Dailekh district have obstructed Dailekh-Surkhet road after the technical committee of the Local Level Restructuring Committee proposed to divide the district into 11 local units. The technical committee had earlier recommend including Gauri, Malika, Kalbhairab and Gamaudi VDCs to form Jwalamalika village council. The proposal was later changed and the four VDCs was incorporated into Dullu Municipality, leading to the protest. Dhakendra Shahi said the four VDCs will continue the protest until the LLRC reverts to previous proposal of forming Jwalamalika village council. The villagers have also demanded designating Binayak as a centre of the village council. Meanwhile, the ongoing protest has led to the closure of schools in the four VDCs since Sunday. The agitating villagers have also shut the VDC offices.
