People took to the streets in Butwal on Wednesday to protest against the registration of the constitution amendment bill in the parliament with the proposal of splitting Province 5. Locals and Nepal Students' Association (NSU) led by the All Nepal National Free Students' Union (ANNFSU) have obstructed the movement of vehicles in Butwal. The vehicles plying along the East-West Highway and Siddhartha Highway have been affected due to the strike. The protesters burnt tyres and chanted slogans saying that the protest will be continued until the government withdraws the constitution amendment proposal. Protests have sparked after the government, without the consensus of major opposite CPN-UML, decided to register the amendment proposal. Likewise, splitting of province 5 and 6 to accommodate the demands of Madhes-based parties have angered the locals of Palpa, Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi, where protests are taking place. ५ नम्बर प्रदेश टुक्र्याउने गरी संसद सचिवालयमा दर्ता भएको संविधान संशोधन प्रस्तावका विरुद्ध बुटवलमा विरोध प्रदर्शन भएको छ । अनेरास्ववियुको अगुवाइमा विद्यार्थी संगठन तथा सर्वसाधारणहरुले बिहानैदेखि बुटवलमा यातायात ठप्प पारेका छन्। केन्द्रमा सीमांकन संशोधनमा सहमत देखिएका दलका कार्यकर्तासमेत प्रदेशमा विरोधमा उत्रिएका छन् । चक्काजामका कारण पूर्व-पश्चिम तथा उत्तरदक्षिण सिद्धार्थ राजमार्गमा चल्ने सवारी ठप्प छन् । सडकमा नाराजुलुस सहित टायर बालिएका छन् । स्वतस्फूर्त सडकमा उत्रिएका युवाले प्रदर्शनमा पाँच नम्बर प्रदेश टुक्र्याउन पाइँदैन, संविधान संशोधन चाहिँदैन , हिमाल-पहाड-तराई कोही छैन पराइ लगायतका नारा लगाएका छन् । प्रदर्शनकारीले ५ नम्बर प्रदेशका पहाडी जिल्ला पाल्पा, अर्घाखाँची, गुल्मी, रोल्पा, प्युठान र ६ नम्बर प्रदेशका रुकुम, दैलेख, सल्यानलाई जोडेर आठौं प्रदेश बनाउने प्रताव अविलम्ब फिर्ता नहुँदासम्म आन्दोलन जारी राख्ने बताएका छन् । ५ नम्बर प्रदेश भूगोलका हिसावले पहाड र तराई मिलेर र प्राकृतिक स्रोत साधन, संस्कृति र सापिप्यता समेटिएकाले दलहरुले हिमाल,पहाड र तराईलाई अलग गरेर प्रदेश सीमांकन गरे देश नै टुक्र्याउन सक्ने उनीहरुको चेतावनी छ । बुटवलसँगै ५ नम्बर क्षेत्रका पाल्पा, गुल्मी, अर्घाखाँची, कपिलवस्तु, नवलपरासी लगायतका जिल्लामा समेत आज बिहानैदेखि विरोध प्रदर्शन भएको छ।
