The agitated locals of khairichandanpur VDC have called indefinite roadblock from today (Dec 1, 2016) against the decision of the District Level Restructuring Committee to exclude the VDC from Village unit. The road block has affected lives in Rajapur Tappu. Locals of Gulariya-Rajapur-Kothiyaghat have also organized similar roadblocks in the areas demanding khairichandanpur be merged into Rajapur Municipality. Due to the roadblock that started at 8 this morning, no vehicles have been plying. According to the Struggle Committee Member, Dayashankar Chaudhary, the roadblock was in protest of the re-allocation of Khairichandanpur VDC under Geruwa Village Unit which was initially recommended as ward no. 10 in Rajapur Municipality.
