In view of the demonstrations sparked by the tabling of the constitution amendment bill by the government, district administration office of Kapilvastu declared an indefinite prohibitory order in district headquarters Taulihawa from Monday morning. The prohibitory order has recognised a 3km area from Banijya Bank in the east to Gaudi in the west and Agriculture Development Bank in the north to Andolan Chowk in the south. “As we got a tip-off about a possible confrontation between different groups in favour and against the amendment bill, we had to take the decision overnight by convening a meeting of the District Security Committee on Sunday night itself,” said Acting Chief District Officer Bharat Kumar Budhathoki. As per the prohibitory order, more than five persons aren’t allowed to assemble at a place or hold a meeting in the restricted area. स्थानीय प्रशासनले कपिलवस्तु जिल्ला सदरमुकाम तौलिहवा क्षेत्रलाई आज बिहान ६ बजेबाट निषेधित क्षेत्र तोकेको छ । जिल्ला सुरक्षा समितिका अध्यक्ष एवम् निमित्त प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारी भरतकुमार बुढाथोकीको अध्यक्षतामा आइतबार राति बसेको जिल्ला सुरक्षा समितिको बैठकले यस्तो निर्णय गरेको हो । स्थानीय प्रशासनले जिल्ला प्रशासन कार्यालय चोकदेखि पूर्वमा वाणिज्य बैंकसम्म, उत्तरमा कृषि विकास बैंक हुँदै महिता चोकसम्म, दक्षिणमा आन्दोलन चोकसम्म, पश्चिममा गौढी चोक हुँदै उत्तर भिच्छु चोकसम्मको क्षेत्रलाई निषेधित क्षेत्र कायम गरेको जनाएको छ । संविधान संशोधन प्रस्ताव दर्तापश्चात् कपिलवस्तु जिल्लाको विभिन्न स्थानमा त्यसको विरोध र समर्थनमा निस्किएको जुलुस, सभा र पुत्ला दहन जस्ता विभिन्न कार्यक्रमले गर्दा जिल्लाको शान्ति सुव्यवस्थामा खलबल हुनसक्ने अवस्था देखिएकाले यस्ता खालका क्रियाकलापलाई हुन नदिन र जिल्लाको सुरक्षा संवेदनशीलतालाई मध्यनजर गर्दै स्थानीय प्रशासन ऐन २०२८ को दफा ६ को उपदफा ३ क बमोजिम निषेधित क्षेत्र घोषणा गरिएको निमित्त प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारी बुढाथोकीले बताए ।
