Locals of Hirminiya have padlocked the Hirminiya VDC office against the decision of merging Hirminiya into the Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city. Local citizens, leaders of political parties, intellectuals, and social workers of Hirminiya had formed a struggle committee to steer their agitation. The struggle committee had also padlocked the VDC office on September 20, Tuesday for the same reason. The committee has again padlocked the VDC for not meeting their demand yet. The struggle committee had also submitted a memorandum to the Nepal Government through the DDC, demanding not to merge Hirminiya into Nepalgunj during local body restructuring.
