The District Court of Salyan has sentenced 4 persons accused of subjecting a 20-year-old woman to inhumane behaviour to 5 years in prison and also fined them rupees five thousand each. The 4 people have been identified as Rooplal Damai, Patali Budha, Pimkali Budha, and 45 years old Lali Pun. According to report, the 4 accused had tortured a 20-year-old woman of Kupindedaha-4 Jyamire on June 6 by feeding her feces and beating her with nettle, saying that she had witch in her. The incident became public only on the July 20. Police arrested 5 culprits on July 21. However, the court released 21-years-old Rupa Thapa due to lack of evidence against her.
