[Updated] There has been protest to condemn the death of Youth Committee of Rupandeshi's president Mr. Durga Tiwari. The protest was led by CPN UML-Nawalparasi. Protesters halted the highway for an hour. CPN UML's cadres have demanded the arrest of the murderer. Tiwari was killed by an unknown group of people on Monday afternoon. He lost his life while he was being taken for treatment at Devdaha Medical College. एमाले निकट युवा संघ रुपन्देहीका अध्यक्ष दुर्गा तिवारीको गोली हानी हत्या भएको विरोधमा एमाले नवलपरासीले सोमबार साँझ जिल्लाका विभिन्न स्थानमा विरोध प्रदर्शन गरेको छ। विरोध स्वरुप उनीहरुले एक घण्टा राजमार्ग बन्द गराएका थिए। एमाले कार्यकर्ताहरुले हत्यारालाई पक्राउ गर्नुपर्ने माग राख्दै गैंडाकोट, कावासोती, भूमहीलगायतका क्षेत्रमा एक घण्टा राजमार्ग बन्द गरेका थिए। रुपन्देहीको देवदहमा अज्ञात समूहले गोली हानी तिवारीको सोमबार दिउँसो साढे तीन बजेतिर हत्या गरेको थियो। गोली लागेर गम्भीर घाइते भएका तिवारीको देवदह मेडिकल कलेजमा उपचारको क्रममा मृत्यु भएको थियो। Update.... 8 arrested in connection to murder of Durga Tiwari The police on Sunday made eight persons arrested in connection to the murder of the then Rupandehi president of CPN-UML-affiliated Youth Association Nepal Durga Tiwari public. An unidentified group on December 19 had shot Tiwari dead in Devdaha of Rupandehi district. Tiwari was targeted while he was riding his motorbike along the local Boliya Marga, around 300 meters south of the East-West Highway. Basanta Bahadur Chapagai of Devdaha-6, Buddhisagar Yadav and Rajesh Yadav of Tilottama-15, Khemananda Bhattarai (aka Prayas) of Tilottama-8, Sagar Thapa of Devdaha-8, Angad Tharu of Dhakdhai-8, Nawalparasi and Risheshwor Kumal of Devdaha-9 were made public in a press conference on Sunday. The police have identified Manoj Buda Magar of Devdaha-6 as the mastermind. Aother planner Som Bahadur Ale (aka Bikash) of Siddharthanagar-13, shooter Raju, Shyam Gurung of Gadhimai-1 and Tul Bahadur Sinjali (aka Babu) of Devdaha-3 who kept and gave the weapon and bullets are still absconding, chief of Rupandehi Police SP Rabindra Dhanuk revealed during the press conference. The arrested eigt persons were involved in bringing the weapon, collecting information about Tiwari, giving a ride to the shooter to shoot Tiwari and helping the shooter to flee after the shooting among others. The police also requested the public to not help the mastermind Manoj Buda Magar in any way and warned that anyone found doing so will be liable for stringent legal action.
