A silent rally was conducted in Pyuthan district against the proposal to amend constitution on Thursday, 23 December 2016. The rally starting from Khanepani Chowk in Khalanga ended at District Administration Office also reaching CDO office.
The locals have been conducting planned movement activities in protest of government's attempt to shift Pyuthan like hilly districts of Province five to four through constitution amendment.
The rally was participated by the district based industrialists, leaders of the civil society organisations, law professionals as well as the representatives of different social organisations.
Mr Dhadhiram Bhandari, District Secretary of Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries addressing the Corner Meeting at Office of Administration after the rally stated the movement to be symbolic only. He said, "The movement currently is only symbolic. So, there will be change in the form of movement if government turn deaf ear".
According to Gyamu Ram Neupane, Chairperson of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Pyuthan said the government not addressing the silent protest by the people in three weeks period is a tragedy. He too informed that the activities till 25 December 2016 have been already set.
Mr Giru Prasad Bhandari, Chairperson of Federation of Journalists Pyuthan, Juman Singh KC, District Chairperson of National Federation of Disabled, Dr Shiva Ram Pandit, District Chairperson Bara, Jiwalal Neupane, Chairperson of National Cooperatives of Nepal addressing the meeting pleaded government to give a way out to the nation taking back the issue of constitution amendment.
संविधान संशोधन प्रस्तावको विरोधमा प्युठानका मौन जुलुस प्रदर्शन भएको छ । बिहीबार सदरमुकाम खलंगास्थित खानेपानी चोकबाट जिविस हुँदै जिल्ला प्रशासनसम्म मौन जुलुससहित विरोध गरिएको हो ।
सरकारले संविधान संशोधन मार्फत् प्युठानसहित पूर्वघोषित प्रदेश नम्बर पाँचका पहाडी जिल्लालाई चार नम्बरमा लैजान खोजेको भन्दै स्थानीयवासी चरणवद्ध आन्दोलनमा छन् ।
मौन जुलुसमा जिल्लास्थित उद्योगी व्यवसायी, नागरिक समाजका अगुवा, होटल, कानुन व्यवसायी र सामाजिक संघ संस्थाका प्रतिनिधिले सहभागी जनाए।
जुलुसपछि प्रशासन अघि आयोजित कोणसभालाई सम्बोधन गर्दै घरेलु तथा साना उद्योग महासंघका जिल्ला सचिव दधीराम भण्डारीले आन्दोलन संकेतिक मात्र भएको बताए । ‘अहिलेको आन्दोलन सांकेतिक मात्र हो, सरकारले नसुने आन्दोलनको स्वरुप परिवर्तन हुन्छ,’ उनले भने ।
आन्दोलनको तीन साता बितिसक्दा समेत सरकारले नागरिकको शान्तिपूर्ण आन्दोलनलाई सम्बोधन नगर्नु दुःखद् रहेको प्युठान उद्योग वाणिज्य संघका अध्यक्ष ज्ञामुराम न्यौपोनले बताए । पुस १० गतेसम्म आन्दोलनका कार्यक्रम तय भइसकेको उनले जानकारी गराए।
सभालाई सम्बोधन गर्दै पत्रकार महासंघ प्युठानका अध्यक्ष गिरुप्रसाद भण्डारी, राष्ट्रिय अपांग सेवा संघका जिल्ला अध्यक्ष जुमानसिंह केसी, बारका जिल्ला अध्यक्ष डा.शिवराज पण्डित र सहकारी संघका अध्यक्ष जीवलाल न्यौपानेले संशोधन फिर्ता लिई देशलाई निकास दिन सरकारलाई आग्रह गरेका छन् ।
