The local victims of road expansion along BP Highway and Hetauda-Chatara alternative road, picketed Kamalamai Municipal Office putting forth various demands in Sindhuli on Thursday. The victims of both road stretches chanted slogans against the municipal authority after entering into its meeting hall. They have demanded that the road stretches from Dhurabazaar to Kudule along the Hetauda-Chatara alternative road and from Gaudauli Bridge to Hirapni road along BP Highway ought to be maintained as municipal road and alternative stretches ought to be sought along the Hetauda-Chatara and BP Highway. They have also demanded that the concern of earthquake victims be addressed at the earliest possible. The road Victims Struggle Committee submitted a memorandum to lawmakers of the district. They said that hundreds of residents along the road would be displaced due to road expansion.
