Students of Damak Bahumikhi Campus on Friday organised an hour long vehicular strike at Campus Mod in Damak in protest of passenger buses’ refusal to provide service to students. The students vandalised three vehicles, allegedly, for operating during the strike. They also beat up transport entrepreneur Krishna Neupane of Lakhanpur-1. Neupane, the owner of a truck, Me 1 Cha 3951, suffered a broken leg during the scuffle and is receiving medical treatment at local Nims National Hospital. The students also caused damage to another mini truck, Me 1 Cha 1737 and a passenger bus Ko 1 Kha 4088. All Nepal National Independent Students' Union (Revolutionary) central secretariat member Kul Bahadur Basnet said that the students came to the streets to protest after the administration failed to pay heed towards their concerns. “They (public buses) don’t let the students travel. And even if they do the vehicle staffers behave rudely,” said Basnet, “We had to resort to protest as our concerns are falling in administration’s deaf ears.” Meanwhile, a meeting is underway between transport entrepreneurs and students to resolve the issue, informed Damak Area Police Office DSP Rajan Limbu. बसमा नचढाएको बिरोधमा दमक बहुमुखी क्याम्पसका बिद्यार्थीले शुक्रबार चक्काजाम गर्नुका साथै सवारीसाधन तोडफोड गरेका छन् । विद्यार्थीले बिहान साढे १० देखि एक घण्टा दमकको क्याम्पस मोडस्थित राजमार्गमा चक्काजाम गरेका हुन् । चक्काजाम गरेको समयमा गाडी चलाएको भन्दै उनीहरुले तीन वटा सवारीमा तोडफोड समेत गरेका छन् । उनीहरुले यातायात व्यवसायी लखनपुर–१ का कृष्ण न्यौपानेलाई कुटपिट गरी घाइते बनाएका छन् । विद्यार्थीले मे १ च ३९५१ र मे १ च १७३८ नं. को मिनी ट्रक तथा को १ ख ४०८८ नं. को बसमा तोडफोड गरेका हुन् । सो क्रममा विद्यार्थीको कुटपिटबाट मे १ च ३९५१ नं.को ट्रकका धनी न्यौपानेको दायाँ खुट्टा भाँच्चिएको छ । उनको स्थानीय निम्स नेशनल अस्पतालमा उपचार भइरहेको छ । ‘विद्यार्थीलाई गाडीमा चढाउनै मान्दैनन् । चढाइहालेपनि गाडी स्टाफले दुव्र्यवहार गर्छन् त्यसैले विरोधस्वरुप चक्काजाम गर्नुपरेको हो’, अखिल क्रान्तिकारीका केन्द्रीय सचिवालय सदस्य कुलबहादुर बस्नेतले भने । उनले यस विषयमा पटक–पटक प्रशासनको ध्यानाकर्षण गराउदा समेत सुनुवाई नहुँदा विद्यार्थीहरु सडकमा उत्रिएको बताए । उनले भने,‘हामीले पाउने सुविधा खोजेका हौं । तर सुविधाको सट्टा हामीमाथि उल्टै दुव्र्यवहार हुने गरेको छ ।’ विद्यार्थीहरु चक्काजामका साथै तोडफोड र कुटपिटमा उत्रिएपछि अहिले यातायात व्यवसायी र विद्यार्थीबीच छलफल भइरहेको इलाका प्रहरी कार्यालय दमकका प्रहरी नायब उपरीक्षक (डिएसपी) राजन लिम्बुले बताए । दमक बहुमुखी क्याम्पसमा जिल्लाको दुधे र मोरङको पथरीसम्मका विद्यार्थी पढ्न आउँछन् ।
