Sugarcane Producers Association Rautahat padlocked Shree Ram Sugar Mill situated at Garuda over a longstanding payment dispute between the mill and the sugarcane farmers of the district. Farmers blamed management for turning deaf ear to the Association due to which the mill had to be padlocked time and again. According to Ashok Kumar Yadav, the agitated farmers had to padlock the mill after the management failed to fulfill the agreement to pay the dues by May 9. According to the Association, the mill had only paid thirty five million out of eighty million owed to the farmers. Earlier the mill had agreed to pay the remaining dues to the farmers within two weeks of sugar being delivered from the store. Manoj Kumar Sahani , treasurer of the Association said that they would not allow sugars to be delivered until the remaining dues were settled. The mill has dues of 260 million since last two years. उखु उत्पादक संघ रौतहटले गरुडा स्थित श्रीराम चिनी कारखानामा तालाबन्दी गरेको छ । लामो समयदेखि उद्योग र संघबीच भुक्तानीको विषयमा विवाद चलिरहेको छ । संघले पटक पटक तालाबन्दी गरे पनि सञ्चालकले गम्भिरता नदेखाएको आरोप किसानहरुको छ । गत बैशाख २६ गतेसम्म भुक्तानी गर्नुपर्ने उखुको मुल्य उद्योगले तालिकाअनुसार भुक्तानी नगरेपछि आक्रोसित संघका पदाधिकारीले तालाबन्दी गरेको संघका अध्यक्ष अशोक कुमार यादवले बताएका छन् । उद्योगले ८ करोड रुपैयाँ बराबरको चिनी बिक्री गरेको तर किसानलाई साढे तीन करोड रुपैँया मात्र भुक्तानी दिएको संघले जनाएको छ । सम्झौताअनुसार उद्योगले गोदामबाट चिनी उठाएको दुई हप्ताभित्र भुक्तानी गर्नुपर्नेमा सो अनुसार नगरेपछि बाँकी भुक्तानी नहुञ्जेल चिनी लैजान नदिने संघका कोषाध्यक्ष मनोज कुमार सहनीले बताएका छन् । उद्योगले गत दुई आर्थिक वर्षको साँढे २६ करोड रुपैयाँ अझै तिर्न बाँकी छ ।
