Temporary Teachers Struggle Committee staged sit in protest in Baluwatar demanding their permanancy through normal process. The protest was from 9 am to 11 am, and had about 500 teachers (representing different places in the country) participating. They demanded to scrap the discriminatory vacancy announcements, re-establishment of teachers displaced from earlier announcement and service period to be taken under consideration. Banda Kumar Das Chaudhary, Committee Coordinator requested the government to turn the temporary teacher to permanent as most of their resourceful time was invested in teaching. Similarly, Kumod Lal Karna, Committee General Secretary informed about 26,163 temporary teachers working currently. With the same demand, five teacher are on hunger strike since 16 June. अस्थायी शिक्षक सङ्घर्ष समितिले देशभर हालसम्म अस्थायी शिक्षकका रुपमा कार्यरत सबैलाई सामान्य प्रक्रिया पुर्‍याई स्थायी गर्न माग गर्दै बालुवाटारस्थित प्रधानमन्त्री निवास अगाडि सडकमा धर्ना दिएको छ । समितिले विभेदकारी भनिएको विज्ञापन खारेज गर्नुपर्ने, विगतका विज्ञापनबाट विस्थापित शिक्षकलाई स्थापित गर्नुपर्ने, सेवा अवधि गणना गर्नुपर्नेलगायत माग गरेको छ । देशभरबाट अस्थायी शिक्षकको प्रतिनिधित्व हुने गरी आएका प्रतिनिधि अहिले काठमाडाँैमा छन् । बिहान ९ देखि ११ बजेसम्म गरिएको धर्नामा करिब पाँच सयको सहभागिता थियो । समितिका संयोजक वृन्दाकुमारदास चौधरीले लामो समय अस्थायीमा कार्यरत शिक्षकको ऊर्जाशील समय शिक्षण पेसामा खर्च भई अब अन्य विकल्प नरहेकाले स्थायी गर्न सरकारलाई आग्रह गरे । समितिका महासचिव कुमोदलाल कर्णले देशभर हाल २६ हजार १६३ शिक्षक अस्थायी रहेको जानकारी दिए । सोही माग पूरा गराउन भद्रकालीमा पनि पाँच शिक्षक यही असार २ गतेदेखि आमरण अनशन बसेका छन्।
