Police on Saturday arrested 48-year-old Gopal Mahat of Haldibari Rural Municipality-1 Chudahatti on the charge of raping a 5-year-old girl from Haldibari Rural Municipality-1 Sukumbasi Tol. Mahat who went on the run following the incident was later arrested by the police with the help of locals. Police are further investigating on the incident. बालिकालाई जवरजस्ती करणी गरेको अभियोगमा हल्दिबारी गाउँपालिका–१ चुडाहात्ती बस्ने ४८ बर्षीय गोपाल महतलाई प्रहरीले पक्राउ गरेको छ । महतले शनिबार हल्दिबारी गाउँपालिका–२ सुकुम्बासी टोल बस्ने ५ बर्षीया बालिकालाई जवरजस्ती करणी गरेको बताइएको छ । घटना पश्चात फरार रहेका महतलाई स्थानीय बासिन्दाले सोही स्थानमा मादक पदार्थ सेवन गरी हिडीरहेको अवस्थामा फेला पारी नियन्त्रणमा लिएका थिए । यस सम्बन्धमा प्रहरीले आवश्यक अनुसन्धान गरिरहेको छ ।
