The newly elected representatives of Kawasoti Municipality clashed at their very first municipal assembly while presenting plans and programs for the fiscal year 2074/75 on July 18. Those involved in clash were elected representatives of 9 wards from NC/CPN-MC and CPN-UML. The clash started when Mayor Chandra Devi Pun called upon the Chief of ward number 2 to present her plans. 9 ward chiefs had been protesting the assembly with demands such as the budget for target groups to be given to the VDC itself and each wards be given coordination of atleast two thematic committees. The municipal assembly started on Friday. नवलपरासीको कावासोती नगरपालिकाको प्रथम नगरसभा तनावपूर्ण बन्दै गएको छ । आर्थिक वर्ष २०७४/७५ को नीति तथा कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत गर्ने क्रममा कंग्रेस र माओवादी केन्द्रबाट निर्वाचित नगरसभाका सदस्य र एमालेबाट निर्वाचित जनप्रतिनिधिबीच आज झडप भएको छ । नगरसभामा ९ वटा वडाका वडाध्यक्षले विरोध जनाउँदै आफ्ना माग पुरा नभएसम्म सभा चल्न नदिने बताएका छन् । शुक्रवारबाट सुरु भएको नगरसभा आज पुन: भएपनि उनीहरुको विरोधका कारण स्थगित भएको छ । नगरपालिका प्रमुख चन्द्रा देवी पुनले सभा सुचारु गरी नीति तथा कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत गर्न वडा नम्बर २ का वडाध्यक्ष लक्ष्मी पौडेललाई रोष्टममा बोलाएपछि असन्तुष्ट वडाध्यक्ष र नगरसभाका सदस्यले रोक्ने प्रयास गर्दा झडप भएको थियो । लक्षित वर्गको बजेट वडामै जानुपर्ने, कम्तीमा दुई वटा विषयगत समितिको संयोजक आफुले पनि पाउनुपर्ने लगायतका माग राखि ९ वटा वडाका वडाध्यक्षले सभा विरोध गर्दै आएका छन् ।
