Police on Sunday arrested a couple from Ishma rural municipality-3 Darlamchaur on the charge of polygamy. The arrested have been identified as 44-year-old Tum Bahadur Khatri and his second wife 36-year-old Humkala Khatri. They were arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by Tum Bahadur's first wife 39-year-old Sumitra Khatri at the police on August 6 According to Sumitra, Tum Bahadur married Humkala on July 14 despite already being married to her. ASI Satyanarayan Yadav of DPO said that the couple were arrested for investigation on the polygamy charge pressed against them.
