Locals on Wednesday staged a demonstration in Dhulikhel, Kavre, over the death of newly-elected Chairman of Dhulikhel Municipality-2 Rajan Koirala. The agitating locals also submitted a memorandum to the District Administration Office and the District Police Office, Kavre, demanding action against the murderer of Koirala. Vehicular movement along the Araniko Highway was obstructed briefly following the demonstration. Koirala, who was found critically injured in a rivulet at Chhap nearby his residence on August 20, breathed his last during the course of treatment at the Thapathali-based Norvic Hospital on Friday night. Koirala, who was elected from the CPN-UML, is survived by his wife, three sons and parents. A police team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police and the District Police Office, Kavre, is investigating into the incident.
