Doctors in Birgunj have boycotted their duties since last three days. Doctors and paramedics of Birgunj have also boycotted their duties as part of their protest against the government’s decision to formulate a law that makes the concerned doctor liable to pay compensation if his or her negligence is proven responsible for a patient’s death. The strike was called by Nepal Medical Association which has been supported by its branch in Narayani Zone. नेपाल चिकित्सक संघले तीन दिन देखि आह्वान गरेको हड्तालका कारण स्वास्थ्य सेवा प्रभावित भएको छ| संघको केन्द्रीय कार्यालय, काठमाडौँले जारी गरेको विज्ञप्तिमार्फत तीन सूत्रीय माग राख्दै नारायणी अञ्चल शाखा पनि आन्दोलित भएको हो| नारायणी अञ्चल शाखा अध्यक्ष डा. जगदीश अग्रवालले माग पुरा नभएसम्म चिकित्सकहरुको आन्दोलन जारी रहने बताए| संघले गत असोज २ गते बसेको मन्त्रिपरिषदको निर्णयमा यदि उपचारको क्रममा कुनै बिरामीको मृत्यु भयो भने त्यसको क्षतिपूर्ति सम्बन्धित चिकित्सकबाट नै भराउने निर्णयले सम्पूर्ण चिकित्सकहरुको मानमर्दन र सम्पूर्ण स्वास्थ्यकर्मी तथा स्वास्थ्य संस्था सुरक्षा एनको उपहास गरेको चिकित्सकहरुको ठहर छ|
