Kin of a minor, who was found dead in a field about a week ago, staged a demonstration accusing police of being negligent to probe the child’s death, in Birtamod of Jhapa, today. A resident of Arjundhara-11, Badri Shiwakoti’s 11-year-old son Laxman was found in a field on October 1. The family of the deceased has filed an FIR with local police against eight local residents charging them with murder of the child. The irate relatives along with other locals picketed the area police office, and enforced chakkajam in Birtamode and chanted slogans against police. They have demanded immediate probe into the case and action against the guilty. A large number of security personnel from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been deployed at and around the area police office to prevent any untoward incident. Inspector Gyan Bahadur Bista said they had arrested three of the eight alleged killers and that investigation into the case was under way.
