Service except for emergency at Mahakali Zonal Hospital in Kanchanpur has been halted from Sunday morning over health worker's protest against an attack on them. The health workers including doctors have taken to the streets to protest an attack on them by the family of a woman, who was admitted to the hospital for delivery, and gave birth to a stillborn child on Saturday night. The family of the mother blamed doctor's negligence for the incident. In the attack, a police personnel deployed in the hospital was injured. The enraged family assaulted in rage Dr Satya Prakash Koirala following the incident, said the Hospital Development Committee Chairman Ashok Pandey. Meanwhile, the police arrested five protestors in connection with the incident. Investigations were on, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Gyan Bahadur Setti.(RSS) डियुटीमा रहेका चिकित्सकमाथि बिरामीका आफन्त हातपातमा उत्रिएपछि आइतबार बिहानदेखि कञ्चनपुरको भीमदत्तनगरस्थित महाकाली अञ्चल अस्पतालको सेवा प्रभावित बनेको छ । शनिबार राति अस्पतालमा सुत्केरी वार्डमा महिलाले बच्चा जन्माउने क्रममा मृत अवस्थामा बच्चा जन्मिएको विषयलाई लिएर सुत्केरी महिलाका आफन्तले अस्पतालका चिकित्सक, नर्स र अस्पतालको सुरक्षामा खटिएका प्रहरीमाथि हातपात गरेका थिए । आफन्तले अस्पतालका डा सत्यप्रकाश कोइरालामाथि हातपात गरेको महाकाली अञ्चल अस्पताल विकास समितिका अध्यक्ष अशोक पाण्डेयले बताउनुभयो । चिकित्सक र स्वास्थ्यकर्मीले घटनाको विरोधमा आइतबार बिहानदेखि आकस्मिक सेवाबाहेकका अन्य सेवा ठप्प पारेका छन् । उक्त क्रममा अस्पतालमा खटिएका एक प्रहरी जवानको टाउकामा गम्भीर चोट लागेको छ । अस्पतालका चिकित्सक महिलाले बच्चा जन्माउने क्रममा मृत अवस्थामै जन्मिएको दाबी गर्छन् । तर महिलाका आफन्तले भने सुत्केरीको वार्डमा रहेको नर्सको लापर्बाहीले बच्चाको मृत्यु भएको आरोप लगाएका छन् । “जन्मिँदै बच्चाको मृत्यु भइसकेको थियो ।” चिकित्सक कोइरालाले भन्नुभयो– “तर महिलाका आफन्त आक्रोशमा आएर हातपातमै उत्रिए ।” बिरामीका आफन्तले चिकित्सक र स्वास्थ्यकर्मीमाथि नै आक्रमण गर्ने कामले असुरक्षित भएको भन्दै आकस्मिकबाहेकका सेवा बन्द गर्ने निर्णय गरेका छन् । जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय कञ्चनपुरका प्रवक्ता प्रहरी नायब उपरीक्षक ज्ञानबहादुर सेटीले चिकित्सकमाथि आक्रमणमा संलग्न भएकाले बिरामीका पाँच जना आफन्तलाई नियन्त्रणमा लिएको बताउनुभयो । उहाँले घटनामा संलग्नमाथि आवश्यक कानूनी कारबाही हुने बताउनुभयो । चिकित्सकको आन्दोलनपछि अस्पतालको सेवा प्रभावित बनेको छ ।
