The people from Dhankuta city have demanded the government that it announced Dhankuta as the capital city of Province No 1. They have staged a sit-in at the Eastern Regional Administration Office, Dhankuta. The locals also submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister through the Administration Office. A rally was organised before the sit-in. The rally begun from Madan Chowk went to the thoroughfares Sunday. Chairman of Dhankuta Industry and Commerce, Umesh Ghimire, said Dhankuta was appropriate place to make provincial capital from security and geographical view points.
