Activists of Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) on Wednesday padlocked the Siddhanath Science Campus of Bhimdutta municipality-18 in Kanchanpur. Nepali Congress (NC)’s student wing NSU has put forth the demand for appointment of campus chief, reduction of tuition fee, arrangement of laboratory, library and sports materials and wall construction. NSU general convention member Gorakh Bahadur Raule said they resorted to padlock the campus administration office against the unilateral move of increasing college fee. “NSU had submitted the charter of demands for the reforms of the campus several times in the past. We are compelled to come up with the stringent move for ignoring our demands”, he clarified. The protest was launched to pile pressure on the campus administration; he shared, adding that they would be compelled to bring further strong protest programme if their demands were not heeded. कञ्चनपुरको भीमदत्त नगरपालिका–१८ कटानमा रहेको सिद्धनाथ विज्ञान क्याम्पसमा बुधबार नेपाल विद्यार्थी संघमा आबद्ध विद्यार्थीले तालाबन्दी गरेका छन् । नेपाल विद्यार्थी संघका दुई समूहले छुट्टाछुट्टै माग अघि सार्दै तालाबन्दी गरेका हुन् । संस्थापन नेवि संघले क्याम्पस प्रमुखको नियुक्ति र देउवा समूहको नेवि संघले शुल्क वृद्धि घटाउने, प्रयोगशाला, लाइब्रेरी, खेलकुद सामग्री, पर्खाल निर्माणको माग अघि सारेर तालाबन्दी गरेका छन् । क्याम्पस प्रमुख र प्रशासन कार्यकक्षमा तालाबन्दी गरिएको छ । देउवा निकट नेपाल विद्यार्थी संघका महाधिवेशन प्रतिनिधि गोरखबहादुर रौलेले विद्यार्थीको ढाड सेक्ने गरी एकाएक शुल्क वृद्धि गरिएको विरुद्धमा तालाबन्दी गरिएको बताए । उनका अनुसार नेवि संघले विगतमा पटकपटक क्याम्पस सुधारका लागि अघि सारेका मागसमेत बेवास्ता गरेका कारण बाध्य भएर तालाबन्दी गरिएको छ । ‘क्याम्पस प्रशासनलाई दबाब दिन मात्रै तालाबन्दी गरेका हौं’, उनले भने, ‘मागप्रति क्याम्पस प्रशासन गम्भीर नभए कडा संघर्ष गर्छौं ।’ विद्यार्थीले लाइब्रेरीमा समेत पर्याप्त पुस्तक, प्रयोगशालामा आवश्यक सामग्री, खेलकुद सामग्री तथा छात्रावासमा घेराबार लगाउन माग अघि सारेका छन् ।
