Dr Govinda KC, a senior orthopedic surgeon at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), on Monday has staged a hunger strike against the Supreme Court’s order to reinstate Prof Dr Shashi Sharma as dean of Institute of Medicine under the Tribhuvan University (TU). Dr KC made the announcement of staging fast-unto-death by organizing a press conference on Monday. The joint bench of Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli and Justice Dipak Kumar Karki, after conducting the final hearing of the writ petition filed by Sharma four years ago demanding his reinstatement, had ordered his reinstatement for four days if he so wishes on Sunday. “I am staging the hunger strike against the chief justice,” Dr KC said in the press conference. This is the 14th time that Dr KC is staging the hunger strike. “Now our judiciary does not give justice, rather it sells it. It is now under the command of the group that punishes honest,and helps protect the corrupt and criminals. There is no alternative to fight with the roof of the problem in such situation created to cover up the judicial crime and to fulfill personal interests at a time when laws and rules should be followed. So there’s no alternative to fighting against corrupt and Mafia-guided Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli only to save the judicial dignity,” Dr KC further said. त्रिवि शिक्षण अस्पतालका प्राध्यापक डाक्टर गोविन्द केसीले चौधौं चरणको सत्याग्रह सुरु गर्नुभएको छ । त्रिभुवन विश्वविद्यालयले बर्खास्त गरेका चिकित्साशास्त्र अध्ययन संस्थान आईओएमका डिन डा. शशि शर्मालाई सर्वोच्च अदालतले पुनर्बहाली गर्न आदेश दिएको भन्दै डा. केसीले अनशन सुरु गर्नुभएको हो । डा. केसीले राजधानीको महाराजगञ्जस्थित त्रिवि शिक्षण अस्पतालमा आज पत्रकार सम्मेलन गरी अनशन सुरु गर्नुभएको हो । केसीले राजधानीको महाराजगञ्जस्थित त्रिवि शिक्षण अस्पतालमा अनशन सुरु गर्नुभएको हो । शर्मालाई कानून विपरीत बर्खास्त गरिएको ठहर गर्दै सर्वोच्चले पुनर्बहाली गर्न हिजो आदेश दिएको थियो । प्रधानन्यायाधीश गोपालप्रसाद पराजुली र न्यायाधीश दीपककुमार कार्कीको संयुक्त इजलासले चारवर्षे पदावधि सकिन चार दिनअघि हिजो शर्मालाई पुनर्बहाली गर्न आदेश दिएपछि डा. केसी, प्रधानन्यायाधीशको राजीनामा माग गर्दै अनशन बस्नु भएको हो । अनसन सुरु गर्नुपूर्व डा. केसीद्वारा जारी विज्ञप्तिमा भनिएको छ, ’विगत केही महिनादेखि सिलसिलेवर रुपमा भ्रष्ट र अपराधीहरुको पक्षमा फैसला भएर न्याय बिक्री भइरहेको दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण अवस्था सबैका सामु छर्लंग छ । त्यसले भ्रष्टहरुलाई उन्मुक्ति दिएर पुरस्कृत गर्ने मात्र नभई देशलाई पचासौं अर्ब राजस्व घाटा बनाएर कंगाल बनाउनमा भुमिका खेलिरहेको छ । यसले आम नागरिकको दोहन गरेर सीमित भ्रष्ट र अपराधीहरु मात्रै धनी हुँदै गइरहेको तथा न्यायालय लगायत राज्यका सबै अंगहरु तिनको कब्जामा गइरहेको अवस्था छ ।’ न्यायालयलाई राजनीतिक दलका नेताहरुले कार्यकर्ता भर्ती केन्द्र बनाएको केसीको आरोप लगाउनुभयो । चिकित्सा शिक्षा अध्यादेश प्रमाणीकरण भएको दुई महिना बितिसक्दा पनि चिकित्सा शिक्षा आयोग गठन हुन नसकेको भन्दै उहाँले तत्काल आयोग गठन गर्न सरकार समक्ष माग गर्नुभयो । आईओएममा वरिष्ठताका आधारमा डिन नियुक्ति गनुपर्ने डा. केसीको भनाई थियो ।
