At least three persons sustained injuries when police personnels and protesters clashed in Dhankuta on Thursday. Locals resorted to protest against the government's decision to name Biratnagar as the temporary provincial capital of Province 1. Protesters demanded Dhankuta as the Provincial capital. Earlier, the protesters had vandalised the District Administration Office. They also set various office equipment on fire. Chief District Officer Prem Prakash Upreti tells Onlinekhabar that the clash erupted after police used force to contain the situation. Police had lobbed dozens of tear gas shells and baton-charged protesters to disperse the mob. Meanwhile, the District Administration Office imposed an indefinite curfew in the Dhankuta district headquarters. प्रदेश नं. १ को राजधानी धनकुटा बनाइनु पर्ने मागसहित आन्दोलनरत् धनकुटावासी र प्रहरीबीच झडप भएको छ । झडपमा ३ जना घाइते भएका छन् । स्थितिलाई नियन्त्रणमा लिन प्रहरीले दर्जनौं सेल अश्रुग्यास प्रहार गरेको छ भने लाठी चार्ज समेत गरेको छ । झडपमा ३ जना घाइते भएका छन् । यसअघि आन्दोलनकारीले बिहीबार बिहान १० बजे प्रशासन कार्यालयमा आगजनी गरेका थिए । जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय, धनकुटाका अनुसार आगजनीबाट कार्यालयको दुई थान कम्प्यूटर, प्रिन्टर लगायतका सामग्री जलेर नष्ट भएको छ । अान्दाेलनकारीले जिल्ला डिभिजन कार्यालय, वारूण यन्त्र लगायतमा समेत ताेडफाेड गरेकाे जनाइएकाे छ । धनकुटाका प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारी प्रेमप्रकाश उप्रेतीले आन्दोलनकारीले सरकारी कार्यालय तोडफोड गर्न थालेपछि स्थितिलाई नियन्त्रणमा लिन खोज्दा झडप भएको अनलाइनखबरलाई बताए । उनको अनुसार अहिले स्थितिलाई नियन्त्रणमा लिने प्रयास भइरहेको छ ।
