More than 30 persons, including security personnel, were injured in a clash that broke out between locals of Bishrampur and security personnel over the decision to shift the office of Brindaban Municipality, in Rautahat, today. Locals of Ward No 2 Bishrampur had picketed the meeting venue from 10:00am when officials of the municipality, including Mayor Ramshnehi Ray Yadav, were meeting to decide on shifting the office from Bishrampur to Chamanpur. The clash erupted when protesting locals pelted stones at the meeting venue as the meeting continued despite their agitation. Nepal Police and APF personnel had fired 21 rounds of tear gas shells to bring the situation under control. Irate locals then broke the main gate of the meeting venue and tried to force themselves in. Police personnel had to baton-charge them to prevent them from entering. Despite police action, locals dragged the furniture out from the meeting venue and set them on fire. Fourteen Nepal police personnel, two APF personnel and more than one dozen protesters were injured in the incident. Struggle Committee Coordinator Ramnath Sahani said that Silawa Devi Sah, who was critically injured, was undergoing treatment at Healthland Hospital, Garuda. Rautahat SP Yagya Binod Pokhrel said that normal force was used to bring the situation under control. Mayor Yadav said the decision to shift the municipality office was put off and charged that the attack as premeditated. He said they were meeting to forge consensus on shifting the office. Normalcy returned after the meeting stopped. रौतहटको बृन्दाबन नगरपालिकाको कार्यालय सारेको निहुँमा आज स्थानीयबासी र प्रहरीबीच झडप भएको छ । झडपमा परेर एक दर्जनभन्दा बढी प्रहरी र सोही संख्यामा स्थानीयवासीहरु घाइते भएका छन् । बृन्दाबन नगरपालिकाको कार्यालय वडा नम्बर २ स्थित विश्रामपुर गाउँबाट वडा नम्बर ३ स्थित हर्षचोकमा सार्ने मेयर रामसिनही यादवको निर्णयविरुद्ध स्थानीयवासीले आक्रोश पोखेका हुन् । केही दिनअघि मेयर यादवले नगर कार्यालयलाई हर्षचोकमा सार्ने निर्णय गरेका थिए । कार्यालय सारेलगत्तै स्थानीयबासीले सो कार्यालयमा तालाबन्दी गरेका थिए । स्थानीय बासिन्दाको विरोधकै बीचमा मेयर यादवले आज प्रहरीको रोहबरमा तालाबन्दी फुटाउन खोज्दा दुई पक्षबीच झडप भएको स्थानीयबासीको भनाई छ । प्रहरीसहित कार्यालय पुगेका मेयर यादवमाथि स्थानीयबासीले ढुंगामुढा समेत गरेका छन् । झडपमा दुवै पक्षका एक दर्जनभन्दा बढी घाइते भएका छन् । दुई पक्षबीचको झडपले उग्र रुप लिन थालेपछि स्थितिलाई नियन्त्रणमा लिन प्रहरीले डेढ दर्जन अश्रु ग्यास प्रहार गरिएको रौतहटका प्रहरी प्रवक्ता डिएसपी रामकुमार डानीले बताए । स्थिति तनाबग्रस्त भएपछि मेयर यादव अहिले सुरक्षा घेरामा रहेका छन् । स्थितिलाई साम्य पार्न अहिले दुई पक्षीय वार्ता सुरु भएको छ । छलफलमा प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारी उद्धबबहादुर थापा, एसपी यज्ञविनोद पोख्रेल, पूर्वसांसद देवेन्द्र पट्टेल, राजनीतिक दलका प्रतिनिधिहरु र सुरक्षा अधिकारीहरुबीच सहभागि रहेका छन् ।
