Locals staged demonstration against dust pollution in Mahottari on Monday. They obstructed the traffic along the Jaleshwor-Bardibas road, demanding the authorities to take immediate measures to control dust pollution. Shiva Shankar Yadav, one of the protesters, said children were suffering from various respiratory diseases due to air pollution. Chief District Officer Baburam Shrestha said that they were making efforts to address the problem of air pollution in the district. (PR) धुवाँधुलोको कारण जनजीवन प्रभावित भएपछि स्थानीयबासिन्दा प्रदुषण नियन्त्रणको माग गर्दै महोत्तरीको औरही नगरपालिका ८ टिम्कीयामा धर्नामा बसेका छन् । बर्दिवास औरही, जलेश्वर सडकखण्ड अन्र्तगतबाट चल्ने गाडीले धेरै धुलो उडाएपछि जनजीवन प्रभावित भएको भन्दै स्थानीयबासिन्दा बिहान ७ बजेदेखि धर्नामा बसेका हुन् । सडकमा गुड्ने गाडीले उडाएको धुलोले बिरामी पर्न थालेपछि सडकमै धर्नामा बसेको स्थानीय शिवशंकर यादवले जानकारी दिनुभयो । आफूहरुले यसबारे पटकपटक नगरपालिकाको वडा कार्यालयमा जानकारी गराउँदासमेत कुनै पहल नगरेको र धुलोको कारण घरघरमै बिरामी पर्नेको संख्या बढेपछि बाध्य भएर सडक जाम गर्नुपरेको स्थानीयबासिन्दाको भनाई छ । अहिले ईलाका प्रहरी कार्यालय रामगोपालपुरको प्रहरी टोली धर्नास्थल पुगेका छन् ।
