Police have arrested 25 years old Raj Kumar Yadav of Ramgopalpur Municipality-1, Basbatti on April 2 on charge of raping 21 years old intellectually disabled woman. According to the District Police Office of Mahottari, the victim woman was raped by the accused on March 22 where police intervened and accepted the complaint. The incident was attempted to be settled within the village in an initiation with ward chairperson of Ramgopalpur Municipality-1. However, police intervened and registered the complaint after the incident was made public. Police said that the ward chairman Sekh Nirala attempted to settle the case within the village in a financial dealing of Rs 3,00,000. Cjairperson Chandra Mandal of Women Network at Itaharwakatti helped the victim to access the police. DSP Nabaratna Paudel of DPO said that the victim woman underwent a health checkup at District Hospital of Jaleshwor on April 1. सुस्तमनस्थितीकी २१ वर्षीया महिलालाई बलात्कार गरेको आरोपमा रामगोपालपुर नपा-१ बसबिट्टी बस्ने २५ वर्षीय राजकुमार यादवलाई प्रहरीले चैत १९ गते गिरफ्तार गरेको छ । जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय महोत्तरीका अनुसार पीडित महिलालाई आरोपितले चैत ८ गते बलात्कार गरेको जानकारी पाएपछि प्रहरीले नै हस्तक्षेप गरी चैत १७ गते उजुरी ग्रहण गरेको थियो । उक्त घटनामा रामगोपालपुर नपा-१ का वडा अध्यक्षले गाउँघरमै मिलाउन खोजेका थिए । तर, घटना सार्वजनिक भएपछि प्रहरीले चैत १७ गते हस्तक्षेप गरी पीडितसँग उजुरी गर्न लगाई अनुसन्धान सरू गरेको हो । जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय महोत्तरीका अनुसार वडा अध्यक्ष शेख निरालाले ३ लाख रुपियाँको लेनदेन गरेर बलात्कारको घटना मिलाउन खोजेका थिए । पीडित पक्षलाई प्रहरीसम्म पुग्न इटहर्वाकट्टी महिला सञ्जालकी अध्यक्ष चन्दु मण्डलले सहयोग गरेकी थिइन् । जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय महोतरीका डिएसपी नबरत्न पौडेलका अनुसार पीडित महिलाको स्वास्थ्य परीक्षण चैत १७ गते नै जिल्ला अस्पताल जलेश्वरमा गरिएको छ ।
