First year law admissions halt as union locks office

2018-04-04

Bagmati, Kathmandu, Kathmandu

A students’ union locked the Dean’s Office of Tribhuvan University Law Faculty on Wednesday and disrupted enrollment of students for the first year bachelor’s degree programme. Nepal Law Campus Chief Dinanath Parajuli said the All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU) put a padlock on the Dean’s Office. This obstructed admission work. “The lockout has halted admissions work. This is the time to run classes after completing the enrollment process,” Parajuli said. Union members locked the office to protest against the new student quota enforced for first year law programme. The Dean’s Office marked 500 students quota for first year law at Nepal Law Campus. The Dean Office has formed a three-member committee headed by former Rector Gunanidhi Neupane to find solution to the issue.
