The locals have physically abuse the chief, vice-chief and local representatives of Barahapokhari Rural municipality on April 22 over a dispute of shifting the center of Rural Municiality. Locals of Barahapokhari are demanding to operate the Rural Municipality Office from ward number-3, Saunechaur. They attacked the local representatives in order to exert pressure so that the office remains in the same place. The meeting was postponed until the next meeting after the situation became tensed. The meeting was held to solve the problem however the discussion was unsuccessful according to Rural Municipality chief Shalikram Banjara. The center of the Rural municipality was determined by Federal Affairs and Local Development Minister based on a recommendation from Rural assembly. Police was deployed after the security of the local concern of the representative was increased according to CDO Eek Dev Adhikari. गाउँपालिकाको केन्द्र सार्न लागिएको भन्दै खोटाङको बराहपोखरी गाउँपालिकाका प्रमुख, उपप्रमुख लगायत जनप्रतिनिधिमाथि स्थानीयले हातपात गरेका छन् । हालसम्म अस्थायी रुपमा वडा नम्बर-३ साउनेचौरबाट सञ्चालन हुँदै आएको गाउँपालिकाको कार्यालयलाई यथास्थानमा राख्नुपर्ने पक्षमा दबाब दिन साउनेचौरका स्थानीयले गाउँ कार्यपालिकाको बैठक चलिरहेकै समयमा वैशाख ८ गते गाउँपालिका प्रमुख शालिकराम बञ्जरा, उपप्रमुख गोमा मगर, वडाध्यक्ष तथा गाउँकार्यपालिकाका सदस्यहरू माथि हातपात गरेका हुन् । स्थायी केन्द्र तोकिएको वडा नम्बर-४ फाक्टाङस्थित बाघखोर भञ्ज्याङमा गाउँपालिकाको भवन निर्माणका लागि प्राप्त भएको जग्गा पास गर्नका लागि सिफारिस दिने लगायत निर्णयका लागि वैशाख ८ गते बसेको कार्यपालिकाको सदनमै आक्रमण प्रयास भएको उपप्रमुख गोमा मगरले बताइन् । स्थानीयले जनप्रतिनिधिमाथि हातपात गर्न थालेपछि कार्यपालिकाको अर्को सूचना जारी नभएसम्मका लागि स्थगित गरिएको छ । समस्या समाधानका विषयमा छलफल राखिएको भए पनि छलफल हुन नसकेको गाउँपालिका प्रमुख शालिकराम बञ्जराले बताए । गाउँसभाको सिफारिस अनुसार संघीय मामिला तथा स्थानीय विकास मन्त्रालयले बराहपोखरी गाउँपालिकाको केन्द्र बाघखोर तोकेको थियो । जनप्रतिनिधिको सुरक्षा चिन्ता बढेपछि प्रहरी परिचालन भएको प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारी एकदेव अधिकारीले बताए ।
