Transport committees who are against the government’s crackdown on syndicate system have halted their services from Friday in Kathmandu valley. As a result, general public are facing difficulties to reach their destinations. However, private vehicles across the valley have been offering lift to people. Likewise, bus companies including Mayur Yatayat, Sajha Yatayat, Annapurna Yatayat among others have rallied behind the government’s move against the organised transport syndicates bus companies and are offering their services. Large number of people, heading for offices and colleges, were seen waiting for public vehicles at various bus stops. The DoTM has confirmed that necessary security arrangements have been made in conjunction with the District Administration Office for the transport companies to operate their bus services in all 77 districts. Besides making security arrangements, the DoTM has said the buses registered under a company will not require a route-permit for Friday. However, it has urged the transport companies to operate their vehicles, covering both their regular routes and beyond. Meanwhile, despite the government’s stand to break the transport cartel it seems to have done little to give respite to the public following the transport committees’ protest. The transport entrepreneurs are adamant not to call off the protest until the government revokes its decision of mandatory company registration and amendment to the Transport Management Directive-2004, said Bhattarai. सिन्डिकेट तोड्न सरकारले चालेको कदमविरुद्ध उत्रेका यातायात व्यवसायीहरूले सार्वजनिक सवारीसाधन नचलाउँदा मुलुकभरको जनजीवन प्रभावित भएको छ। सार्वजनिक सवारीसाधन नगुडेपछि राजधानी काठमाडौंसहित देशभरको जनजीवन प्रभावित भएको हो। सरकारले गत चैत १८ गते जारी गरेको यातायात निर्देशिका खारेजीको माग गर्दै नेपाल यातायात व्यवसायी राष्ट्रिय महासंघको नेतृत्वमा यातायात सञ्चालन ठप्प भएको हो। महासंघका महासचिव सरोज सिटौलाले सरकारले अकस्मात् ढंगले निर्देशिका जारी गरेकोले सवारी संचालन बन्द गर्नुपरेको बताए। यातायातमा सुधार गर्न सरकार, व्यवसायी र उपभोक्ता रहने गरी अधिकार सम्पन्न प्राधिकरणको माग गरिरहेका बेला सरकारको निर्णयले आफूहरू मारमा परेको सिटौलाको दावी छ। व्यवसायीसँग छलफल नगरी सरकारले यातायात निर्देशिका जारी गरेको आरोप उनले लगाए। महासंघअन्तर्गत अहिले देशभरका ३०५ समितिमा झण्डै चार लाख सार्वजनिक यातायात सञ्चालनमा छन्। पढ्नुस् : व्यवसायीले सार्वजनिक सवारीसाधन नचलाउँदा यात्रुलाई सास्ती यद्यपि कम्पनीमा आबद्ध यातायात व्यवसायीले भने आफ्नो सेवालाई आज पनि निरन्तरता दिएका छन्। बिहीबार कम्पनीमा आबद्ध व्यवसायीको यातायात व्यवस्था विभागमा भएको छलफलपछि सेवा दिन तयार रहेको टुरिष्ट बस एशोसिएशन अफ नेपाल (टिवान) का महासचिव कृष्ण आचार्यले जानकारी दिए। काठमाडौंमा साझा यातायातसहित केही यातायात कम्पनीका गाडी चलेका छन्। सडकमा निजीसवारीसाधन, मोटरसाइकल लगायतका गाडीको भने चाप छ। पृथ्वी राजमार्ग ठप्प व्यवसायीको हड्तालका कारण पश्चिम पोखराबाट चल्ने सार्वजनिक यातायातका साधन चलेका छैनन्। पोखरामा पकड रहेको पृथ्वी राजमार्ग यातायात व्यवसायीसँगै स्थानीय श्रृंग र अन्य साना समितिले समेत यातायातका साधन नचलाए पछि तनहुँस्थित पृथ्वी राजमार्ग सुनसान छ। निजी कम्पनीका माइक्रोबस पनि फाट्टफुट्टमात्र चलेका छन्। प्रशासनले हड्तालपूर्व यातायातका साधन चलाउन व्यवसायीसँग पहल गरे पनि समितिहरूले नमानेका हुन्। निजी नम्बर प्लेटका साधनहरुले काठमाडौंका लागि यात्रु बोकिरहेको दृश्य राजमार्गमा देखिएको छ। तनहुँका प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारी भरतकुमार शर्माले आफूहरुसँग कुनै सवारीका साधन नभएका कारण यातायात नियमित बनाउन नसकिएको बताए।
