Flood Victims from Last year picketed at the Katahari Rural municipal office on July 23 demanding relief allocated by the government for them. However, the budget got freeze due to the incapability of the district administration to distribute to the victims. According to the victims, it was the District Administration office's weakness that the budget got freeze. They were supposed to distribute the 3 crores 79 Lakh and 17 thousand Rupees allocated for the 12 thousand and 93 families at a rate of Rs. 25000/family.According to the Chairperson of Katahari Rural municipality, Ram Kumar Kamat, the DAO asked them to return the budgeted amount to avoid any dispute due to distribution as the name of some of the genuine victims was missing from the list. गत वर्ष साउनको बढीले घरमा क्षती भएकाहरुका लागि सरकारले पठाएका राहत रकम फिर्ता भएपछी पिडितले सोमबार कटहरी गाउँपालिका घेराउ गरेका छन् ।राहत माग गर्दै गाउँपालिकामा धर्ना दिएका पिडितले स्थानीय जनप्रतिनिधिको कमजोरीले रकम फिर्ता गरेको बताए ।पिडितका लागि आएको प्रति परिवार २५ हजार रुपैयाँ राहत कटहरी लगायतका स्थानीयहरुले वितरण गर्न सकेनन् । कतिपय स्थानमा वास्तविक पिडितको नं सूचीमा नभएको र गैर पिडितको नाम राहत पाउनेमा भेटीएपछी अख्तियारमा उजुरी परेको थियो ।राहत वितरणमा विवाद हुने सम्भावना देखेर विराटनगर महानगरपालिकाले पनि राहत रकम वितरण गर्न सकेन।मोरङका कतिपय स्थानीय तहले राहत रकम वितरण नगर्दा असार अन्तीममा फिर्ता गएको हो । मोरङका १२ हजार ९३ परिवार बढी पिडितका लागि सरकारबाट आएको राहत रकम ३० करोड २३ लाख २५ हजार मध्ये १० लाख पनि वितरण नभएको जिल्ला प्रशासन कार्यालयले जनाएको छ । गृह मन्त्रालयबाट जिल्ला प्रशासन कार्यालयका नाममा पेश्कीमा आएको रकम मन्त्रालयमै फिर्ता जाने प्रजिअ आचार्यले बताए ।
