A 20-year-old woman was raped by a group of six assailants at Shambhunath Muncipality-6 in Saptari district on Sunday. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bhawesh Rimal said the victim, a resident of Khadga Municipality-5, was gang-raped at Arnaha while she was returning home from a local fair organised on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. The victim’s family lodged a complaint to the police on Tuesday. According to DSP Rimal, the woman was returning home on a bicycle with her 16-year-old neighbour when they were waylaid by the attackers. The woman’s neighbour told police that the six men beat him and snatched his phone before taking the woman to a nearby paddy field. A police team that reached the incident site only recovered the boy’s bicycle, but the woman was not there. DSP Rimal said the woman came to police contact on Monday. Police arrested five suspects based on the descriptions provided by the woman. The sixth suspect is at large. The Saptari District Court on Tuesday remanded the accused men to judicial custody pending investigation. Meanwhile, the woman is undergoing treatment in Rajbiraj. एक युवतीलाई सामूहिक बलात्कार गरेको आरोपमा सप्तरी प्रहरीले पाँच जना युवा पक्राउ गरेको छ । रक्षाबन्धनको अवसरमा सप्तरीको शम्भुनाथ नगरपालिकास्थित अर्नाहामा लागेको मेला भरेर फर्किंदै गरेकी सप्तरीको खडक नगरपालिका–५ की २० बर्षीया युवतीमाथि सामूहिक बलात्कार गरेको आरोपमा प्रहरीले जिल्लाको बिभिन्न स्थानबाट ५ जनालाई पक्राउ गरेको हो । पक्राउ पर्नेमा सप्तरीको शम्भुनाथ नगरपालिका–५ निवासी २० वर्षीय विक्रम सरदार, सोही ठाउँका २६ वर्षीय कृष्णनारायण साह, २७ वर्षीय मनोजकुमार राम, सप्तरीकै कञ्चनरुप नगरपालिका–११ निवासी २४ वर्षीय हीरालाल साह र शम्भुनाथ नगरपालिका–७ निवासी १८ वर्षीय राजकुमार भगत रहेको जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय सप्तरीका प्रहरी नायब उपरीक्षक भबेश रिमालले जानकारी दिए । रक्षाबन्धन मेला भरेर सोमबार राति करीब ९ बजे साइकलमा एक्लै घर फर्किंदै गरेकी ती युवतीलाई अर्नाहा र कठौनाको बीचमा पर्ने वसबलपुर जाने बाटो नजिकै सात÷आठ जना युवाको समूहले बाटो छेकेर धान खेतमा लगेर सामूहिक बलात्कार गरेको पीडितको भनाइ उद्धृत गर्दै प्रहरी नायब उपरीक्षक रिमालले बताए । पीडित युवतीका परिवारजनले न्यायको माग गर्दै प्रहरीमा उजुरी गरेपछि सप्तरीका प्रहरी उपरीक्षक राजेन्द्र बिष्टको नेतृत्वमा खटिएको प्रहरी टोलीले विभिन्न स्थानबाट ती सबैलाई पक्राउ गरिएको जनाएको छ । घटनामा संलग्न युवाले मादकपदार्थ सेवन गरेको पीडित युवतीले बताएकी छिन् । यसैबीच पक्राउ परेका पाँचैजना माथि आजै जबर्जस्तीकरणी मुद्दा दर्ता गरी आवश्यक अनुसन्धान अघि बढाइएको प्रहरी नायब उपरीक्षक रिमालले जानकारी दिए ।
