Members of “Justice for Nirmala” campaign organised a protest at the south gate of Singha Durbar on Thursday. The demonstrators holding banners and placard organised a sit-in for a brief while in front of Singha Durbar which has been listed as prohibited zone for protests. The Nepal Police personnel on duty at the south gate barely managed to control the protesters but more police force arrived to assist them following which the demonstrators left the area on their own. The protesters demanded the authorities arrest and take action against the culprit(s) involved in the rape and murder of 13-year-old Nirmala Panta of Kanchanpur, take action as per the criminal law against suspended SP Dilli Bista, the then police chief of Kanchanpur among others. Likewise, the agitators have also put forth 10-point demands to control gender based violence. निर्मला पन्तको बलात्कार पछि हत्या गर्नेलाई कारबाहीको माग गर्दै सिंहदरबार अगाडि प्रदर्शन भएको छ । निषेधाज्ञा तोड्दै युवा युवतीहरुले प्रदर्शन गर्न थालेपछि सिंहदरबार दक्षिण गेट नै केहीबेर बन्द गरिएको थियो । ब्यानर र पप्लेटसहित उनीहरुले केहीबेर गेट अगाडि नै बसेर धर्नासमेत दिए । उनीहरुले नाराबाजी गर्दै गृहमन्त्रीको राजीनामा समेत मागेका छन्
