A group of seven men gang-raped two girls at Lahan Municipality in Siraha district on Friday.

The victims, aged 15 and 20, said two boys—Anish Chaudhary and Sunil Chaudhary—invited them to a mango field to celebrate the birthday of Hari Kanta Chaudhary, a friend they had known for over two years, on the evening of Bhai Tika. The girls were well acquainted with the boys and agreed to go to the field where five other men were waiting.

Locals informed the Area Police Office, Lahan, after the girls said they were raped by the men.  All seven men accused are on the run.

DSP Rajesh Thapa said they have identified three persons involved in the crime and have deployed a special police team to search for them.
