Relatives of 22-year-old Aarati Kumar Yadav of Bode Barsaain Municipality-7 in Saptari accused her in-laws of beating her to death.
Aarati Kumar's brother Anil Kapur Yadav said her family had started beating her since morning on Wednesday. The family claims that she died due to consuming poison.
Anil Kapur said that he found his sister in very serious condition when he went to her house around 11:00am and took her to hospital in an ambulance. Aarati Kumar however died while undergoing treatment.
Area Police Office Kalyanpur said that Aarati Kumar died while undergoing treatment at Lahan based Umaprasad memorial hospital. They found a pesticide bottle in Aarati Kumar's room.
Police have meanwhile, arrested 55-year-old Ram Dev Yadav, Aarati Kumar's father-in-law in connection with the investigation of the incident.
