Students of Tri Chandra College in Kathmandu on Tuesday padlocked various offices inside the college demanding withdrawal of fee hike.
The irate students, pursuing Masters degree in Chemistry, padlocked the offices of campus chief Pradip Bahadur Neupane and Bisan Dautta Bhatta, coordinator at the Department of Chemistry.
Anand Karki, a Masters level student, said that they were forced to padlock the offices as the college could not justify raising the tuition fees arbitrarily. He further informed that the students, on Thursday, had submitted a memorandum to campus chief Neupane regarding the matter. However, their plea went unheeded, said Karki.
Similarly, the students have said that they will not open the padlock unless the decision to increase the fees is rolled back.
