2018-12-06

Bagmati, Kathmandu, Kathmandu

Police have arrested few demonstrators while they were trying to stage a sit-in in front of the President’s official residence Shital Niwas in Maharajgunj on Thursday.

Police have arrested the protestors while they were advancing toward the residential office of the President to stage a sit-in demanding justice for Nirmala Panta.

The government has been under fire for its failure to arrest the culprit involved in the heinous crime committed against Panta, a 13-year-old girl who had been murdered in cold blood after rape in Kanchanpur on July 27.

Various individuals and organizations have been staging protests to pile pressure on the government to bring the culprit to book at the earliest.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police took a suspect into custody and released other six individuals after arrest in the course of investigation into the Nirmala case.
