Police have fired at least five rounds of tear gas shells to bring situation under control after local residents of Ghorahi Sub-metropolis-14 obstructed Ghorahi-Tulsipur road section following the morning’s fatal road accident involving a bus and a scooter.
A resident of Ghorahi-18, Scooter rider Meghraj Pun (29) was killed while pillion rider Mahesh Budha (24) was critically injured after a bus (Lu 2 kha 1602) heading towards Tulsipur rammed the bike near Shahid Lakhan Thapa Park in Ghorahi-14.
It has been learnt that irate relatives of the road accident victim along with locals went on strike, obstructing the traffic along the Ghorahi-Tulsipur road section.
However, Dang District Police Office stated that some local youths tried to block the road section. Police further said that the traffic has not been affected ‘that much’ since vehicles have been directed through the alternative routes.
