An 18-year-old girl has been subjected to torture and physical assault by her relatives in Birendranagar-7 on the allegation of witchcraft. 18-year-old Amrita Buda who live with her Aunt Krishna Kafle in Surkhet Birendranagar-2 has sustained serious injury on different parts of her body including her face after being burned with hot spatula. Krishna tortured and beat her nephew after her 3-year-old daughter fell ill.
"I live with my aunt. Her younger daughter was ill. On Sunday, aunt invited my mother. After my mother's arrival, aunt alleged me of being a witch and hit me with a hot spatula. I screamed for help. No one came for my help." said Amrita.
Despite this, Amrita's family do not want to seek any legal help about the incident. The incident of torture came to light only on Friday after Amrita was discharged from the hospital. Police have arrested Krishna and her husband for investigation informed DSP Pratap Bahadur Chhetri of DPO Surkhet.
