Locals have shut down the town after a youth was killed in a brawl at Attariya in Kailali demanding arrest of those involved in the killing.

20-year-old Arun Bhatt of Godawari Municipality lost his life and three others sustained injuries in a clash that took place when Bhatt and his friends were returning from a provincial fair in Attariya. Following the incident, the fair has also been postponed.

“Bhatt was assaulted with a sharp weapon which caused fatal injuries to his chest,” Kailali Police Chief and Superintendent of Police Abhusan Timsina said, “Three other friends of the victim were also attacked and are undergoing treatment at Seti Zonal Hospital.”

Bhatta had succumbed to injuries while en route to Seti Zonal Hospital.

Although, the suspects involved in the killing have been identified, officers are yet to arrest them, informed police.
