Expressing dissatisfaction with the mayor’s working style, the ward chairpersons of Janakpur Sub-Metropolis staged an hour-long sit-in outside the sub-metropolitan office on Sunday. Sixteen ward chairpersons from a total of 25 wards have been protesting against Mayor Lal Kishwor Sah. They have been demanding the authorities to delegate power to the ward offices, withdraw the local taxes that were recently hiked and ensure them to float agenda during the municipal executive meeting, among others. The agitating people’s representatives warned of further protests unless their demands are met. (PR)
