Workers vandalized Arjundhara Municipality when the construction company stopped extracting pebbles and sand from the river. Workers expressed their anger towards the municipality on Sunday, stating that thousands of workers were impoverished after SUS halted extraction of stones, pebbles, and sand.

The protesters pelted stones at the municipality office on Sunday protesting the municipality's inability to create an environment for extraction of sand according to the agreement.

The municipality and the construction company had contracted at a cost of Rs. 2 crores sixty-one lakh ten thousand on condition of collecting 600 cubic meters of the material of Biring, Tangting, Leader and Goyang river on October 1.

According to Utsab Dhakal, director of SUS Construction, the municipality has decided to restrict the transport of riveted material after the condition that the municipality could not make the conditional excavation environment.

The construction company has stopped the excavation due to protests by locals. The construction company wrote a letter to the municipal to adjust the collection environment within twenty-four hours after the collection was not allowed according to the consensus.

Even the municipality has repeatedly discussed the issue of excavation. Locals have locked the ward office of ArjunDhara-1 saying that the surface of the water is drying due to excavation.
