Two committees padlocked the office of FNJ (Federetion of Nepalese Journalists) in Jhapa after a committee headed by FNJ Jhapa chairperson Taramani Sapkota refused to renew the membership of 53 members accusing them of being inactive.
Issuing a press statement, Press Chautari and Phoniz Jhapa Padlocked the office. Press Chautari Jhapa president Mukti Poudel and Phoniz president Bishal Nemwang signed the statement. They have demanded that the wrong decision be corrected by 9 pm on February 13.
The press union Jhapa has also filed a memorandum demanding the correction of this wrong decision. Chairperson of the union Indu Purveli informed that the union had also demanded to correct the decision and create a situation for everyone to participate in the general assembly.
