2019-02-20

Bagmati, Kathmandu, Kirtipur

An emergency meeting of the Executive Council of Tribhuvan University has suspended Baubalal Sah, Assistant Dean at the Faculty of Education, Tribhuvan University, for allegedly misbehaving with a female student.

The meeting suspended Sah from the post of Assistant Dean on condition that he cannot carry out any work of the university saying his “condemnable act” has tarnished the image of the university. Sah is in police custody for his alleged involvement in groping a female student.

Earlier in the day, Sah’s victim, a native of Bardiya district, had filed a complaint at the Department of Education Office stating that Sah made unwelcome sexual advances at her and touched her private body parts while she was on her way to the Office of the Examination Controller from Kirtipur-based Nepal Bank on Wednesday.

Following the complaint, Students of All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) and All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary aligned with the ruling party had smeared the soot on Sah’s face accusing him of sexually harassing the female student while she was on her way to collect the academic certificate at the Tribhuvan University today.
